Is Black History Month Ready for This?

live band- Soul Street Collective

Be electrified by this awesome trio and their professional.  Soul Street Collective will make you want to make life and love happen.  Say hi to Andrea, Sonja, and LaTanya.

What Made This?

I feel like there is not a celebratory tradition for Black History as it is for many other cultures. (St. Patrick's Day, Cinco De Mayo, Chinese New Year, etc.) After Nine years of costume celebrations, along with fourteen trips throughout Africa, a Master's Degree in an African Studies Discipline, you have the birth of Colors of Kemet - A Black History Costume Celebration.

Venue - Little Black Pearl

Located at 1060 E. 47th Street, Little Black Pearl is place that hosts some of the most quality events I have ever attended.  It is spacious and funcitonal.  The Little Black Pearl seems to line up with the vision I have for Colors of Kemet.  So be ready to have your senses dance.

Mission

It’s easy to do great things when you believe in what you do. That’s why I’m committed to helping more people like you, have a great time celebrating your history.  It is a good one ya' know.

To establish a standardized celebration format for Black History Month that embraces both entertainment and inspiration.

Motivation

It means so much to make a contribution to my culture.  Helping people to do more for themselves is my driving force. Most importantly, it keeps pushing me to achieve bigger and better things with each new challenge.
